They were great and on time and gave us extra time.
Tearing something down makes a pile fast. A shed comes apart in an afternoon, a bathroom gut job fills the hallway by lunch, and suddenly the debris is the whole project. We drop a roll-off where you want it, you fill it, and we haul it off.
To be clear about what we do: 417 Dumpster Rental rents the dumpster. The demolition itself is your work or your contractor's. We are veteran owned, based in Springfield, and the red dumpsters with the raccoon on the side are ours.

Most teardowns we deliver for are the kind a homeowner or a small crew can finish in a weekend or a week. The jobs that fill a demolition dumpster:
Anything bigger than that, a whole house or a commercial structure, usually means a demolition contractor with an excavator and a permit, and we are glad to keep dumpsters running for them.
Worth knowing so nobody is surprised on delivery day: we are a dumpster company. We are not a demolition crew. We do not swing hammers, run a skid steer through a wall, or load the dumpster for you. You or the contractor you hired does the tearing out and the carrying.
What we handle is the container and the disposal, which is the part that eats a weekend in dump runs if you try to do it with a pickup. Tell us what is coming down and we will get the right dumpster on site.
Plaster, brick, block, mortar, tile, and broken concrete are heavy out of proportion to their size. For those loads take the 14-yard, starting at $249. Its 4-foot walls keep you from stacking more weight than the trailer should carry, and it sits on the same 14 by 7 feet of driveway the bigger dumpster does.
When the demo is mostly wood framing, drywall, decking, and cabinets, volume is the problem instead, and the 20-yard at $299 with its 6-foot walls is the better call.
We run dumpsters across Springfield and out through Nixa and Ozark, plus the rest of the service area spanning Greene, Christian, Polk, and Webster counties. Delivery is a trailer behind a pickup with a hydraulic lift that sets the dumpster down flat, so it lands gently and it fits into places a full-size roll-off truck cannot reach.
That matters on demo jobs, where the dumpster wants to sit as close to the door or the deck as possible. Every trip across the yard with a wheelbarrow of plaster is a trip you would rather not make.
If the surface worries you, stamped or decorative concrete especially, ask about driveway protection boards when you call. They are available on request, and on grass or gravel they go under the dumpster anyway.
Old houses around here can hide asbestos in floor tile, the mastic under it, pipe wrap, and some siding and ceiling texture. It cannot go in a dumpster. Testing and removal are the job of a licensed abatement contractor, and that is the law, not our preference.
If a room built before the late 1970s is coming apart, get it checked before the first swing. Also staying out: chemicals, fuel, batteries, tires, wet paint, appliances holding refrigerant, and liquids of any kind. The what goes in page has the full list.
Demolition debris is awkward and it traps air. Long pieces laid flat along the floor of the dumpster hold more than the same lumber thrown in at angles. Break down framing, pull the deck boards off the joists, and lay them down instead of tossing them. Fill the corners with the small stuff.
Heavy material goes on the bottom, spread across the length of the dumpster rather than piled at the door. Load level with the top rail and stop there. A load mounded over the rail cannot be tarped or hauled legally, so a little planning early keeps the last wheelbarrow from becoming a problem.
A bathroom is the classic case. The tub, the vanity, the toilet, the tile, and the wet backer board behind it add up fast. That load is heavy, sharp, and impossible to keep in a garage for a week. Same with a kitchen tear-out: cabinets, countertops, and a layer or two of old flooring.
Put the dumpster close to the door you are carrying out of, work one room at a time, and the house stays livable while the work happens. The rental period is three days, which covers a weekend of demo with room left over, and extra days are $20 a day if the job stretches.
Full gut jobs move faster than people expect once the drywall starts coming down, and the debris volume jumps at the same moment. If you are pulling walls in more than a couple of rooms, plan on the 20-yard and call when it gets close to full rather than after.
Not sure which dumpster your project wants?html">how it works page covers delivery day start to finish. Permits are rarely an issue on a private driveway, but if the dumpster has to sit on a public street,.
Dumpster Permit GuideYes. Heavy debris is accepted, and it belongs in the 14-yard almost every time. Broken concrete, brick, block, mortar, plaster, and tile weigh far more than they look, so a dumpster that size fills up by weight long before the walls are full. Keep the load spread across the floor of the dumpster instead of piled in one corner. Weight is billed after pickup, and we go over how that works when you book.
The 20-yard, starting at $299. Old lumber, decking, fence panels, and shingles are bulky rather than dense, so the taller 6-foot walls are what you need. A teardown that includes a concrete pad or a footing full of block is a different animal, and that part is better off in the 14-yard, starting at $249. If your pile is a mix, describe it on the phone and we will pick the dumpster with you.
Asbestos cannot go in the dumpster. Older Springfield houses can have it in floor tile, mastic, pipe wrap, and some siding. It has to be handled and disposed of by a licensed abatement contractor under state and federal rules. If you suspect it, stop and get it tested before the demo starts. Chemicals, fuel, batteries, tires, and liquids of any kind stay out too.
